The Pipeline of Light
was launched in 2002 to address the enormous demand for the Urantia
Book in countries where readers cannot afford them. When I first
heard the story of a group of seventy readers in South America who
were sharing eleven books between them, I knew I would be
irresistibly drawn to this project. Groups of readers around the
world are studying the revelation in extraordinary circumstances.
How fortunate we are to be blessed with the resources to help them!
Here in the United States, where most
of us could purchase books whenever we please, interest in the
revelation grows slowly. Conversely, in countries where interest in
the Urantia Book is growing by leaps and bounds, the price of the
book may be several weeks' wages. It is ironic that in countries
where per capita income hovers near $100 per MONTH, the retail price
of The Urantia Book can be two or three times what we pay in the
states.
The Pipeline of Light project
provides a flow of donated books in every available language to
areas where readers can otherwise only dream of owning a personal
copy of the revelation. In the past year, Pipeline books have been
delivered to Poland, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, India, Nigeria,
Senegal, Mexico, Costa Rica, Pakistan, Palestine,
Chile, Argentina, El Salvador, Malaysia, Venezuela, Myanmar, and
Colombia. Since November 2005 149 books have been shipped, and this
number is constantly changing.
Here is how it works; When contacts are made (through the efforts of
such groundbreaking world seed planters as Norman Ingram, Augustin
Arellano, JJ Johnson, and others),
Pipeline volunteers (which include Paula Thompson and David Kantor) order
the books from Tamara Wood at Urantia Foundation, who makes every
effort to give the Pipeline a generous discount. Tamara then ships
the books directly from Chicago. In other instances the books are
hand-carried by travelers who deliver them in person.
Every penny raised for the Pipeline of Light is used exclusively for
books and shipping costs.
Donations are
tax-exempt. You may either give via The Urantia Book Fellowship, or
use your Paypal account via Mind, Body and Spirit, Inc.

Dear Friends,
During the first quarter of 2008, Pipeline of Light volunteers
placed 94 copies of The Urantia Book into eleven countries. Your
donations to the Pipeline helped us deliver books to readers and
study groups in Costa Rica, Peru, India, Arizona, Chile, Egypt,
Thailand, Colombia, Argentina, the Maldive Islands, and Venezuela.
85% of this quarter's placements were copies of El Libro de Urantia
sent to Latin America. But an interesting development this year has
been requests where the translation requested is not the primary
tongue of the country to which we've sent the book. We sent one
French book to India, and Italian and German books to Costa Rica. We
were also happy to have sent the Pipeline's first Russian CD version
of The Urantia Book to India. Is this a new trend?
This quarter's placements bring our Pipeline all-time totals to
fifteen hundred and fifteen books placed into sixty countries around
the world.
