2009 OUTREACH

Pradhana Fuchs

Pradhana Fuchs from Chile has been reading the Urantia Book for 15 years. It was originally given to him by Norman Ingram when he and a few other readers met him in Peru. Pradhana has attended four of the Fellowship's International Conferences and has traveled extensively for Norman and UNO on other Urantia Book seeding missions throughout Latin America, to Cuba as well as to Spain for the Parliament of the World's Religions.

Jon Detoy

Jon Detoy from Loveland, Colorado, is a contractor who has studied the book for more than 30 years and has participated regularly in Urantia groups and events in Northern Colorado. Jon is moving permanently to the Urantia community in Chile. An expert cameraman and outdoorsman, Jon hopes to be instrumental in helping Pradhana and Coloro achieve success as he accompanies them on their Patagonian mission.

In civilization much, very much, depends on an enthusiastic and effective load-pulling spirit. Ten men are of little more value than one in lifting a great load unless they lift together--all at the same moment.

The Urantia Book (81:6.37)

Pradhana says, "We have been working and serving for a group called UNO (Urantia Nations Outreach) that was started by Norman Ingram. UNO's main task is to take Urantia Books around the world and place them strategically in national libraries and universities as well as with people who have a sincere interest.

Before the trip, Pradhana said, "We will drive 1,500 kilometers (about 1000 miles) from where we live in Chile to the town of El Bolson. El Bolson is famous for its beautiful annual fair that gathers hundreds of people from around the region because of its flourishing social, artistic and cultural aspects. Our idea is to spend ten days in Bolson and set up a Urantia Booth. We will also do presentations in the cultural centers and work there in coordination with a Urantia reader that we know there. Then we will go south to Esquel, a much larger city in Patagonia, and spend the next two weeks driving through thirteen big cities.

For the mission we will have a small van -- we call it Van the Steadfast."

Our intention is to place Urantia Books in the main libraries of these cities; if we have enough books we will place them in the libraries of many smaller towns as well. Patagonia is a region that covers a part of two countries, Chile and Argentine, so we will be crossing borders. The 13 cities we hope to visit are: Esquel, Futaleufu, Chaiten, Castro, Ancud, PuertoMontt, Osorno, Valdivia, Temuco, Villarica and Los Angeles.

Mission to Patagonia

Urantia Book readers Pradhana Fuchs from Chile and Jon DeToy from Colorado have been seeding the Spanish Urantia Book along a 1,500-km stretch in South America, from Chile to Patagonia. The Fellowship's Pipeline of Light collaborated by providing books and Mind, Body and Spirit took donations for the mission, which was supported by Urantia Book readers.
